Shoreline Mafia: West Coast Trap’s Party-Starting Collective
Shoreline Mafia is an American hip hop collective from Los Angeles known for its energetic, carefree take on West Coast trap and party rap. Originally formed by members OhGeesy, Rob Vicious, Fenix Flexin, and Master Kato, the group rose rapidly through SoundCloud-era momentum, becoming one of the defining acts of late-2010s West Coast rap.
Shoreline Mafia broke through with viral tracks like “Musty,” “Nun Major,” and “Bottle Service,” which helped establish their signature style: laid-back flows over bouncy, bass-heavy production. Their breakout project “ShoreLineDoThatShit” (2017) became a cult favorite, followed by the mixtape “Mafia Bidness” (2020), which featured polished production and guest appearances from major artists, further expanding their mainstream reach.
The group became known for high-energy live performances and strong streaming performance across platforms like Spotify and YouTube, where their tracks accumulated hundreds of millions of plays. Their influence helped shape the modern West Coast rap revival, blending street culture aesthetics with club-ready sound.
While Shoreline Mafia has not received major formal music awards, they achieved significant commercial success and widespread cultural impact within hip hop, particularly in shaping the SoundCloud rap movement.
