SubDocta: Bass Music’s Mad Scientist
SubDocta, the moniker of Preston Charles, has rapidly become a standout name in the bass music scene, celebrated for his inventive sound design and genre-blending approach. Hailing from Reno, Nevada, SubDocta burst onto the scene with his breakout track “2009 Was Tight,” which quickly gained traction for its distinctive fusion of dubstep, riddim, and trap elements.
Known for his self-coined “West Coast Wobble” style, SubDocta has delivered a string of hits, including “Torqued” and “Crank,” showcasing his ability to merge gritty basslines with funky, unpredictable rhythms. His music has been supported by some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Excision, Ganja White Night, and Liquid Stranger, earning him spots on major labels like SubCarbon Records and Wakaan.
