Two Friends: Beats Born From Friendship
Two Friends is an American electronic/pop-dance duo made up of Matt Halper and Eli Sones, who first teamed up in high school and have since built a devoted following through their energetic originals, viral remixes, and immersive live shows.
They first attracted attention in 2014 with their remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Born to Die,” which gained rotation on SiriusXM’s BPM station. As they developed their signature sound—a melodic blend of dance, pop, and upbeat EDM—they released popular originals like Forever and Overdose (2016), followed by their Out of Love EP in 2017 which featured fan-favorite tracks like “Out of Love” and “Pacific Coast Highway.” Songs like “Emily,” “Just a Kid,” “Looking at You,” “More Than Yesterday” (with Russell Dickerson), and “If Only I” (with Loud Luxury and Bebe Rexha) have helped grow their reach significantly.
In addition to charting successes, Two Friends are known for their Big Bootie Mixes, hour-long mashups remixed from nostalgic and current hits, which have earned them millions of streams and large fan-engagement. Their live shows have escalated in scale: in 2023 they headlined the Planet Two Friends Tour, playing iconic venues like Red Rocks, Forest Hills Stadium, and Northerly Island.
With a strong base in remix culture, a string of popular originals, and a growing presence in major venues and festivals, Two Friends continues to shape the crossover dance-pop space with warmth, energy, and melodies born of a genuine partnership.
