Pedro Sampaio: Brazil’s Global Funk & Pop Sensation
Pedro Sampaio is a Brazilian DJ, producer, singer, and songwriter who has become one of the leading figures in modern Brazilian funk and pop. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Sampaio is known for combining infectious funk rhythms with electronic production, pop melodies, and high-energy performances. In just a few years, he has developed an international following and accumulated more than 14 billion audio and video streams.
Sampaio broke through with hits including “Sentadão,” “Dançarina,” “No Chão Novinha,” “Joga Pra Lua,” and “PocPoc.” “Dançarina” reached the Top 50 of Spotify’s Global chart, while “PocPoc” became another major international success. His albums Chama Meu Nome (2022) and ASTRO (2024) further established him as one of Brazil’s biggest new-generation hitmakers.
His accolades include winning Funk of the Year at the 2024 Prêmio Multishow for “Joga Pra Lua,” while he has also received nominations for a Latin Grammy and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
