OMNOM: Bass-Driven House’s Quirky Innovator
Omnom (real name Cody Lee) is a Los Angeles–based DJ and producer who burst onto the scene in 2018 with the cult-hit “Fo Free,” instantly establishing his idiosyncratic and bass-heavy take on house music. Described by fans and critics alike as a “whirlpool of weird,” his style merges playful vocals, wobbling sub-bass, and unexpected sonic twists that make him stand out in the crowded house world.
Omnom’s most notable hit is his 2023 collaboration with Brisbane’s Odd Mob, “Losing Control,” which soared to #1 on Beatport’s Overall Top 100 and debuted on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic chart—a breakthrough that cemented his crossover appeal. Other standout tracks include “Mind Awake, Body Asleep,” “All Day, All Night,” “Strut,” “By Myself” (feat. XKYLAR), and “Okay, Fine,” collectively garnering tens of millions of streams.
While mainstream awards remain elusive, Omnom commands respect and airplay from key tastemakers like Dom Dolla, John Summit, Walker & Royce, Chris Lorenzo, and Fisher—sometimes serving tracks as festival weapons before official release. Notably, John Summit and Dom Dolla regularly champion his unreleased IDs in their sets.
