Hoang: Vancouver’s Emotional Melodic Bass Storyteller
Mike Hoang—known simply as Hoang—is a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ hailing from Vancouver. A classically trained pianist since childhood, he emerged on the scene in 2018 with his debut single “Don’t Say” (featuring Nevve), quickly establishing a sound characterized by emotive melodies and crossover production that blends melodic bass, future bass, pop, and progressive house.
Hoang’s breakthrough came with the track “Million Days”, released via Monstercat, which has amassed over 30 million Spotify streams and became a pivotal moment in his career. His discography also includes heartfelt hits like “Run Back to You,” “Hard Part’s Over”, and “People Change”, each reflecting his lyrical introspection and melody-first approach.
By 2025, Hoang had racked up over 100 million collective streams and amassed a dedicated fanbase, leading to successful headline shows across North America and a role supporting Elephante on a 15-city U.S. tour. His debut full-length album, Heartstrings (released January 31 on Lost in Dreams Records), deepened his emotional palette with tracks like “5 Years” (feat. Dia Frampton), “Already Gone”, and “Better Now” (with VLCN & Casey Cook)—a 10‑track reflection on love, loss, and growth.
With a rare combination of vulnerability and musical craftsmanship, Hoang continues to captivate audiences—proving himself not just as a talented producer, but as a melodic storyteller whose music resonates deeply around the world.
