Joel Corry: From Reality Star to Dancefloor Dynamite
Joel Corry (born June 10, 1989, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England) is a British DJ, producer, and former reality TV personality whose rise in electronic music has been nothing short of explosive. After early years on MTV’s Geordie Shore, Corry made his musical breakthrough in 2019 with the UK Top 10 hit “Sorry”, which also broke the record for most Shazamed track in a single day.
A year later, his collaboration with MNEK, “Head & Heart,” became a massive success—spending six consecutive weeks at #1 on the UK Singles Chart and earning RIAA Platinum status, as well as accumulating over 1 billion Spotify streams. The track also earned nominations for Song of the Year at the 2021 Brit Awards and secured two APRA Music Award wins for Most Performed Dance/Electronic Work and Most Performed Australian Work.
Following that, Corry delivered more chart-toppers, including “Bed” (with RAYE and David Guetta), certified Platinum in the UK, and “Out Out” (with Jax Jones, featuring Charli XCX and Saweetie), which reached #6 on the UK Singles Chart.
His debut studio album, Another Friday Night (2023), features standout singles like “Sorry,” “Head & Heart,” and “Bed,” reaching #5 on the UK Albums Chart and earning Gold certification.
Corry’s achievements extend to awards recognition: he has won two APRA Music Awards and three Electronic Dance Music Awards, and has been nominated for five Brit Awards, two Global Awards, and fifteen EDMA nominations.
His success, rooted in UK garage and buoyed by infectious piano-house hooks and vocal collaborations, marks Joel Corry as a defining figure in modern pop-infused dance music.
