Jauz: Bass House Trailblazer
Sam Vogel, known professionally as Jauz, is an American DJ and producer born on September 2, 1993, in Mill Valley, California. He emerged in the EDM scene in the mid-2010s with a bold philosophy that “music has no boundaries,” blending elements of bass house, dubstep, trap, and future garage into his unique sound.
Jauz’s breakthrough came with “Feel the Volume” released on Mad Decent in 2014, signaling his rise in the bass-heavy arena. In 2015, his collaboration “Rock the Party” with Ephwurd became a definitive bass house anthem, earning support from major DJs and establishing his festival presence. In 2018, he teamed up with DJ Snake for “Gassed Up,” a track widely credited with helping launch the speed house sub-genre.
Beyond singles, Jauz founded his own imprint, Bite This, in 2017, providing a platform for his evolving style and other bass-oriented artists. His 2018 full-length album The Wise and the Wicked showcased an expansive sonic range, while his 2023 album Rise of the Wise explored futuristic house textures.
With hundreds of millions of streams, worldwide festival appearances at Ultra, EDC and more, and a career built on innovation, Jauz continues to stand out as a genre-defining force in modern electronic music.
