Black Tiger Sex Machine (Unmasked DJ Set) @ Nova SD (21+)
Let’s meetup for Black Tiger Sex Machine!
Black Tiger Sex Machine: The Apocalyptic Electro Visionaries
Black Tiger Sex Machine (BTSM) is a fierce electronic trio hailing from Montreal, Canada—Marc Chagnon, Julien Maranda, and Patrick Barry—who have dominated the heavy-electro and bass scene since 2011. Known for their dystopian aesthetic, they perform in illuminated tiger helmets, delivering high-intensity live shows that blur the line between a DJ set and a live electronic performance.
Their releases are equally striking, with standout tracks like “Hell Motel,” “Mountains,” “Zombie,” “Hacker” (withBlanke), “Time Travel” (with Blanke), and “Lifeline” (with Kayzo featuring Point North) showcasing their commanding production style. Their albums Welcome to Our Church (2016)—hailed by The Huffington Post as “one of the best electronic albums of the year”—and New Worlds (2018) cemented their reputation as innovators in the genre,
BTSM’s reach extends beyond music: founding Kannibalen Records, they’ve nurtured artists like Kai Wachi, Apashe, Dabin, and LeKtriQue. On stage, they’ve commanded some of the world’s biggest festivals—including Ultra Music Festival, EDC, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, TomorrowWorld, Electric Forest, and more—often delivering crowd-favorite, visceral sets.
As boundary-pushing artists who fuse visual spectacle with sonic intensity, Black Tiger Sex Machine remain central figures in the evolution of bass-heavy, performance-driven electronic music.
