Hybrid Minds: Melodic Drum & Bass Storytellers
Formed by English producers Matthew Lowe and Josh White, Hybrid Minds emerged in the early 2010s as a fresh voice in the UK’s liquid drum & bass scene. Their signature sound—lush, emotive vocals layered over rolling beats and atmospheric instrumentation—quickly captured attention.
Tracks such as “Touch” (feat. Tiffani Juno) became anthems of the scene, earning streams in the tens of millions and cementing their reputation as crossover hits in the D&B world. Their 2017 album Elements built on earlier work like Mountains (2014) and showed the duo honing their craft in song-driven drum & bass.
Accolades include selling out legendary venues and being hailed by media as leaders of the scene—MTV called them “one of the biggest acts in D&B”, and they became only the third drum & bass act to headline London’s Wembley Arena. Their 2024 album Tides continues the momentum, exploring themes of longing, escape and reflection through emotionally rich production.
With their blend of dancefloor energy and introspective songwriting, Hybrid Minds have carved a distinctive place in drum & bass, proving that the genre can be both club-ready and emotionally resonant.
