Boogie T: Bass-Funk Innovator from the Bayou
Brock Thornton, better known as Boogie T, is a Louisiana-born DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who has forged a distinct path in modern bass music by blending Southern soul, funk, dubstep and riddim. Raised in the swamps of Louisiana, he began playing piano, guitar and bass at an early age — teaching guitar by his teens — which laid the foundation for his genre-spanning creative output.
Boogie T made his label debut in 2017 with the Soul’d Out EP on SubCarbon Records, landing in the iTunes Top 10 Electronic albums. He followed with releases on major electronic labels such as Atlantic/Big Beat, Ultra Music and Circus Records, and founded his own imprint Drama Club Recordings in 2018 to further explore his bass-funk fusion.
Known for tracks like “Bad Attitude” (with Riot Ten) and the Joint Force EP featuring collaborators such as Conrank, SubDocta and Honeycomb, Boogie T’s live performances also stand out—whether solo or as part of his live band Boogie.T.Rio, performing at venues like Red Rocks, Electric Forest and major festivals including Coachella and EDC Las Vegas.
With his deep roots in musicianship, his versatile instrument-based skill set, and his vibrant Cajun-soul influence combined with heavy bass, Boogie T remains a compelling and evolving figure in the bass-music world — bringing funk, guitar solos and dubstep mayhem to dance-floors everywhere.
