Yookie: The Bass Brothers Remixing Rock & Rave
Yookie is a New York–based electronic duo made up of brothers Anthony and Christopher Alfaro, known for their genre-bending fusion of dubstep, trap, and bass. Since emerging around 2012, they’ve carved a reputation for remixing and reworking iconic rock anthems into heavy bassbombs for the dance floor.
One of their breakthrough tracks is “Intruder Alert,” featured on Deadbeats Compilation 2, which quickly became a staple in their live sets. Their most recent EP, The Dark Side of the Trash, flips rock classics like “Seven Nation Army,” “Come As You Are,” and “Bull On Parade” into wobbly, high-impact dubstep versions — while their viral track “Sunshine of Your Wub” continues to resonate deeply with fans.
Yookie is also known for major collaborations, including their hard-hitting single “Apocalypse” with Nitti (formerly Nitti Gritti), which melds dark, cinematic bass with raw energy. As live performers, they’ve brought their full-on sound to festivals like EDC Las Vegas, and their 2024 set at Ultra Music Festival showcased massive tracks like “Nuclear,” “Enter the Machine,” and their collab “Wraith” with Hydraulix.
Yookie has gained deep respect within the bass community. Their aggressive sound, nostalgic touches, and fearless experimentation have earned them a dedicated following — and their “The Dark Side of the Trash” tour in 2025 continues to spread their signature mayhem across the country.
