Elephante: Melodic Architect of the Dance Floor

Elephante, born Tim Heng Wu on November 10, 1989 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is an American DJ, producer and singer-songwriter who brings classical training and pop-sensibilities into the expansive world of electronic dance music. After studying economics at Harvard and briefly working in corporate America, Wu made a bold shift to music, fusing piano and guitar background with club-ready production.

Elephante first gained momentum with tracks such as “Catching On”, “Dynasty” and “Closer”, each blending emotive vocals with driving synth-melodies and earning millions of streams across platforms. In 2018 his single “The In Between” reached number 8 on Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart, marking his first Top-10 entry.

In his 2021 album Heavy Glow, Elephante deepened his sonic palette—merging future bass, rock influences and introspective songwriting to process themes of identity and resilience. His 2024 album COPE expanded this further, exploring emotional healing and sonic evolution.

Known for live sets that merge organic instrumentation with dance-floor impact, Elephante has built a loyal following and been featured in media such as Billboard and Rolling Stone. With a growing catalog, wide appeal and distinctive musical voice, Elephante remains a standout name in melodic electronic music—one whose blend of heart and beat continues to resonate globally.
