Delta Heavy: Architects of Cinematic Drum & Bass Energy
Delta Heavy—comprising Ben Hall and Simon James—are a British drum & bass duo that have shaped modern bass music since their formation in London in 2009. Their breakthrough came with the 2012 single “Get By,” which reached #30 on the UK Indie Chart and became a fixture in DJ sets worldwide.
They first gained attention on RAM Records with “Space Time” / “Take the Stairs” (2010), earning nominations for Best Track, Best Producer and Best Newcomer at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards, and topping download stores across the UK. Follow‑ups “Overkill” and “Hold Me” further established their sound, while track “Get By” from the Down the Rabbit Hole EP peaked on UK charts and solidified their emergence.
Their debut album Paradise Lost (March 18 2016) featured hits like “Ghost” (featuring an animated Clippit music video), “Punish My Love” and “White Flag,” blending soaring melodies with colossal drops. Only in Dreams (2019) followed, boasting collaborations with Zeds Dead, Modestep, Muzzy, Kuuro—and singles like “Take Me Home” (feat. Jem Cooke).
On the awards front, Delta Heavy won Best Male Artist (Drum & Bass) at the 2019 International Dance Music Awards. Their reverence extends to fans and peers alike: they’ve remixed major names such as Avicii, Rita Ora, Chase & Status, Martin Solveig, Zeds Dead and Hans Zimmer.
As live performers, Delta Heavy headline festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Let It Roll and Reading & Leeds, delivering their trademark blend of melody and intensity on high‑octane stages worldwide.
With three influential albums, chart-topping singles, prestigious awards, and a reputation for powerful live shows, Delta Heavy continue to define cinematic drum & bass for global audiences.
