Will Sparks: The Melbourne Bounce Trailblazer
William James “Will” Sparks (born March 15, 1993, in Melbourne, Australia) is a pioneering DJ and producer instrumental in defining the Melbourne bounce subgenre of electronic dance music.
He first made waves with his 2012 single “Ah Yeah!”, which helped launch the bounce movement by dominating charts and gaining quick global attention. Building on that momentum, his 2013 collaboration “Bring It Back” with Joel Fletcher earned platinum certification in Australia and was a commercial breakthrough. In 2014, his track “Ah Yeah So What!”, featuring Wiley and Elen Levon, climbed to #4 on the ARIA Singles Chart and also earned platinum status.
In 2014, he achieved the prestigious title of No. 1 Australian DJ, affirming his growing influence in EDM. Sparks has also performed at top-tier festivals including TomorrowWorld, Tomorrowland, Stereosonic, and Ultra Music Festival. He consistently featured in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll from 2015 through 2022, with rankings ranging from the 50s to the 80s—peaking at #56 in 2018.
In 2018, Sparks launched Sparksmania, his own branded festival and tour that has since expanded across Australia and internationally.
