Virtual Riot: The Sound‑Design Maestro of Modern Bass
Christian Valentin Brunn (born July 20, 1994), known professionally as Virtual Riot, is a German DJ, producer, and visual artist celebrated for reshaping dubstep and melodic bass through precision sound design and relentless experimentation.
Since debuting under the name Virtual Riot in 2011—and joining Disciple Recordings in 2014—he has delivered standout releases like the Chemistry EP (2016), which reached #20 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and German Engineering (2018), which climbed to #11 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart.
Among his most beloved tracks are “Energy Drink,” boasting over 18 million Spotify streams, “One For All, All For One” (feat. Razihel, on Monstercat), and his 2024 LP Stealing Fire, featuring the REZZ collaboration “Give in to you,” both featured on Monstercat’s Best of 2024 compilations. In 2025 he dropped “Damage” with DJ Diesel and “What U Got” with Viperactive, further expanding his host of high‑profile collaborations.
At the Loud Cave Awards 2021, Virtual Riot earned Best Electronic Album, Best Bass Artist, and Best Bass Track honors. His work has also extended into mainstream media—contributing to Justin Bieber’s “2 Much” (Grammy-nominated) and music for Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Reddit fans often hail him as “a staple in the progression of bass music” whose genre-defining live shows are both educational and electrifying.
With millions of streams, critically acclaimed albums like Simulation (2021) and Stealing Fire (2024), sold-out headline shows—including a pinnacle performance at L.A.’s Hollywood Palladium—Virtual Riot remains a leading figure and innovator in global bass music and production artistry.
