Swimming Paul: The Emotive Architect of Dance
Swimming Paul is a mysterious and rising electronic producer and DJ, known for his deeply nostalgic, emotionally rich house sound. Originally from France and now based in London, he blends elements of bedroom house, pop-infused electronic, and melodic, rave-aware techno.
He first gained widespread attention with his single “Fading”, which earned heavy support on BBC Radio 1 from tastemakers like Pete Tong, Danny Howard, and Jess Iszatt. That track, marked by its pulsing synths and heartfelt lyrics (“my soul is fading”), showcases his ability to combine vulnerability with dancefloor energy.
In June 2024, Swimming Paul dropped his debut album Smiling Through the Pain, a 18-track journey through melancholy and dancefloor catharsis. He later teamed up with Tiësto on the club anthem “VHS Rave,” a collaboration that further boosted his profile across the global electronic scene.
Known for his immersive and emotionally charged live performances, Swimming Paul has sold out shows to crowds around 2,000 strong, and performed at major festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, Portola, and CRSSD.
Though still early in his career, his steady release schedule (dropping new singles every few weeks) and his growing fan base suggest he’s a major new voice in modern electronic music.
