SAYMYNAME: Godfather of Hard Trap
Dayvid Lundie-Sherman, widely known by his electrifying stage name SayMyName, is a Los Angeles–based DJ and producer credited as the pioneering force behind the hard trap genre—a high-octane fusion of hardstyle and trap elements. Raised in a musical household, he channeled early influences from his DJ father into mastering advanced music theory, setting a foundation for his distinct sound.
His breakout came with a trap-infused remix of Showtek’s “F.T.S.” in 2012—widely celebrated as the spark that ignited the hard trap movement. In 2013, SayMyName won Insomniac’s Discovery Project, earning him a standout slot at EDC Las Vegas that thrust him into the spotlight.
Since then, he’s unleashed explosive anthems like “Wanted” with Mercer, and remixes of DJ Snake’s “Propoganda” and Mercer’s “Encore,” all of which have become staples in the sets of electronic heavyweights including Tiësto, Afrojack, David Guetta, Dillon Francis, Jauz, and Diplo.
Onstage, SayMyName’s presence is as imposing as his music—towering at 6’5″, he commands festival main stages like EDC, Ultra, and Hard Summer with raw energy and pulsing bass. With relentless creativity and a genre-defining sound, SayMyName continues reshaping the boundaries of bass-driven dance music.
