Habstrakt: The Genre-Bending Bass Alchemist
Adam Jouneau, better known by his stage name Habstrakt, is a French DJ and producer who has carved a distinctive path in electronic music by blending elements of bass house, dubstep, and future bass. After starting his musical journey with guitar and keyboards, Habstrakt transitioned into electronic production around 2008, embracing genre-defying styles and forging his own creative identity.
His breakthrough came with standout collaborations and original tracks like “Chicken Soup” (with Skrillex), “Show Me,” “Like Before” (with Jauz), and “Outer Space” (with Roderick Porter), which propelled him into the global bass music spotlight. On Monstercat, he debuted with influential singles such as “Infinite” (2019), followed by “Lasagne,” “The One,” “Real,” “Es Isso,” “Ya Think,” and most recently “ZERO200” in 2025, creating a strong presence within the label’s Uncaged series.
A commanding live presence, Habstrakt has graced major festival stages including Ultra Miami, Lollapalooza Paris, and EDC Las Vegas. Fans on Reddit regularly hail his sets as some of the most compelling in bass house, calling him “on another level.”
