Markus Schulz: The Emotional Architect of Trance
Markus Schulz is a German-born, Miami-based DJ and producer widely respected as one of trance music’s most consistent and emotionally powerful artists. Across a career spanning over two decades, he’s blended ethereal melodies and pounding dancefloor energy into a signature sound, while also cultivating a loyal fanbase through both his productions and his wildly popular radio show, Global DJ Broadcast.
Some of Schulz’s best-known tracks include “Destiny (feat. Delacey)”, “The New World”, “Remember This”, and “Perception”. Another standout is “The Expedition”, his collaboration with Armin van Buuren which served as the A State of Trance 600 Anthem.
On the accolades front, Markus Schulz has been voted America’s Best DJ by DJ Times a record three times (2012, 2014, and 2018), earning him the golden Pioneer DJ mixer trophy. He is also the founder of the Coldharbour Recordings label, which has become a major platform for similar trance / progressive artists.
Albums like Without You Near (his 2005 debut), Do You Dream? (2010), and We Are The Light (2018) showcase his range—from deeply introspective vocal-driven tracks to epic instrumentals.
