Wilkinson: Drum & Bass’ Melodic Ground-Breaker

Mark Wilkinson (born April 18, 1989, London) — better known simply as Wilkinson — emerged as a rising star in the UK drum & bass scene in the early 2010s. With a background in guitar and drums, he found his true calling producing bass-heavy, melody-driven dance tracks and secured a pivotal deal with Ram Records.

His breakthrough came with the single Afterglow (featuring Becky Hill), which reached No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart and topped the UK Dance Chart in 2013. Following this success, his debut album Lazers Not Included (2013) hit No. 1 on the iTunes Dance Chart in 10 countries and solidified his global reach.

Wilkinson continued to dominate with hit tracks like Half Light (No. 25 UK) and Dirty Love (UK Top 20). His second album Hypnotic (2017) became one of the most successful D&B records of its year, while his 2020 collaborative effort Portals with Sub Focus topped the UK Dance Chart.

Wilkinson has earned multiple awards including Best Single, Best Album, Best Producer, and Best Live Act at the National Drum & Bass Awards and the Drum & Bass Arena Awards. A seasoned live performer, he has headlined major festivals and sold out iconic venues like Brixton Academy.

With formidable production skills, chart-smashing hits, and a global touring footprint, Wilkinson remains one of drum & bass’s most influential figures.
