Kai Wachi: Demigod of Bass
Kekai “Kai” Wachi, hailing from Boise, Idaho, has established himself as a defining force in heavy bass music. Since signing to Kannibalen Records in 2012, Kai Wachi has built a reputation around seismic drops, sharp sound design, and an ability to blend aggression with emotion.
His debut full-length album, DEMIGOD (2019), marked a significant milestone—featuring collaborations with Famous Dex, Sullivan King, Grabbitz, and Virus Syndicate. The LP showcased Wachi not just as a purveyor of brutal bass, but as a producer capable of depth and nuance. More recently, his sophomore album NEKROSIS (2025) continues that evolution, with tracks like “ILL,” “Hold Onto Me,” “Like You,” and “Be There For You” adding emotional layers while preserving his signature heaviness.
Some of his fan-favorite tracks include “Run” (with Dylan Matthew), “Hollow”, “Flatline”, “LUVSICK”, and “Demons”—songs that highlight both his capacity for melody and his powerful drops.
Wachi has been repeatedly honored by fans and festival circuits: hailed as an MVP at events like Lost Lands, EDC Las Vegas, Paradiso, and Wobbleland. With total plays reaching well into the hundreds of millions and monthly listeners in the high six-figure range, Kai Wachi stands as one of bass music’s vital voices—constantly expanding the vocabulary of heavy electronic sound.
