Austin Millz: Harlem’s Genre‑Bending Club Virtuoso
Austin Christopher Millz (born October 30, 1988) is a Harlem-born DJ, producer, and songwriter celebrated for channeling his roots in hip-hop, R&B, and soul into a vibrant electronic music identity. Recognized by Complex for his “fusion of hip-hop and electronic music,” Millz has carved out a unique niche at the intersection of underground club sound and polished dance-pop.
His 2017 debut Cyclone EP on Fool’s Gold Records showcased his genre-blending style, featuring collaborations with Tunji Ige, Ye Ali, and Sessi—soundtracking the energy of Harlem nightlife to international stages. Notable tracks include “Bad Behavior” with Remi Wolf, “Gold” featuring Aluna, “Breathless” with Alina Baraz, and his standout remix of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good”—all celebrated across dance and pop circles.
In 2018, he received Global Spin Awards nominations including Breakthrough DJ of the Year and Regional Club DJ of the Year (Northeast). With collaborations including Estelle (“Freeway”) and core releases like the Breathwork EP featuring Alina Baraz, Sabrina Claudio, and Justine Skye, Millz continues to expand his artistic reach.
Millz’s visual and live presence left a lasting impact when he DJ’ed Beyoncé’s Coachella Homecoming event and debuted a critically acclaimed Boiler Room NYC set in 2023. His dynamic sound and commanding stage presence—frequently spotlighted by Resident Advisor and NYC Tastemakers—have positioned him at the forefront of next-gen Black dance music and New York’s electronic renaissance.
Through soulful hooks, infectious rhythms, and genre-fluid grooves, Austin Millz continues forging an expansive path between club grit and cosmopolitan polish.
