Marie Vaunt: Acid-Techno Architect
Marie Vaunt is a Japanese-American techno DJ and producer based in Los Angeles, known for her fierce acid-inflected techno and atmospheric rhythms. Her track “Dark Room”, released on Drumcode Records, climbed to #1 on the Beatport Techno Peak Time Top 100, positioning her as one of the most explosive new voices in peak-time techno.
In early 2024, Vaunt achieved the rare feat of having three tracks simultaneously in the Beatport Top 10—namely “Dark Room,” “ADSR,” and “Reaction.” That same year, she earned the distinction of being the best-selling female techno artist on Beatport, ranking fourth overall across all techno artists.
Marie’s sound fuses dark, driving kicks with ethereal vocals and acid-303 lines, paying homage to both her Japanese heritage and her rigorous techno identity. Her label releases span respected imprints such as Drumcode, Revealed Recordings and Hi-Lo’s HILOMATIK, while her own imprint Kurai Records has become a top-ranking techno label on Beatport.
