Let’s meetup for Benny Benassi!
Benny Benassi: Electro-House’s Relentless Pioneer
Marco “Benny” Benassi (born July 13, 1967, in Milan, Italy) is one of the defining figures of modern electronic music. He burst into international prominence in 2002 with “Satisfaction” (credited to Benny Benassi Presents The Biz), a raw electro-house anthem with a power-tool music video that became a dancefloor staple across Europe and beyond.
His debut album Hypnotica (2003) cemented his style — heavy synths, distorted vocals, and a sound that helped bring “electro-house” into the mainstream. The album won the European Border Breakers Award for an Italian artist achieving strong overseas sales.
Among his notable tracks are “Able to Love,” “Beautiful People” (with Chris Brown), “Cinema” (featuring Gary Go), and “Spaceship,” each showing Benassi’s versatility from club OG to pop-dance crossover. The Skrillex remix of “Cinema” won a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, and Benassi himself also scored a Grammy for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise.”
For over two decades, Benassi has headlined premier festivals worldwide — Ultra, Tomorrowland, EDC, Coachella — and collaborated with artists ranging from Madonna to Chris Brown. In recent years, he’s revisited his classics (including reworks of Satisfaction and Love Is Gonna Save Us) while continuing to shape the current dance scene.
