Inspired by Kanye West’s College Dropout, he began making beats at a young age and rose to prominence by crafting the distinctive post-hyphy sound that reenergized Northern California’s hip-hop scene.
Behind the boards, P-Lo’s production credits include major hits like Flo-Rida’s “GDFR”, Sage the Gemini’s “Gas Pedal”, Wiz Khalifa’s “Bout Me”, Yo Gotti’s “Act Right”, and contributions to projects by Kehlani and YG As an artist, his albums More Than Anything (2017) and PRIME (2018) reflect his versatility and presence behind the mic. His single “Put Me On Somethin’” (featuring E-40) earned a place at #83 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest West Coast Hip-Hop Songs of All Time.”
In 2025, P-Lo further solidified his position as a cultural ambassador for the Bay Area by curating an album titled For The Soil in partnership with the Golden State Warriors’ music label, featuring appearances by local icons like E-40, Too $hort, G-Eazy, Saweetie, and more. He debuted tracks such as “Don’t Lose Your Head” (with DJ Jauz) at Chase Center and introduced “Players Holiday ’25”, spotlighting Bay Area talent ahead of the NBA All-Star Weekend.
