Joris Voorn: The Melodic Techno Maestro
Dutch DJ and producer Joris Voorn (born February 25, 1977, in Tilburg) has etched his place at the core of melodic techno and house since his debut in the early 2000s. The son of a composer and music teacher, he emerged onto the scene with the acclaimed Muted Trax Part 1 (2002) and Lost Memories EPs, earning recognition as Talent of the Year at the Dutch DJ Awards in 2003.
Voorn co-founded the influential labels Green (2005) and Rejected Music, offering platforms for both his own productions and rising talents. In 2009, he released the celebrated mix compilation Balance 014, and his dancefloor anthem “Sweep The Floor” became a defining track in Ibiza that summer, helping secure him the Best Breakthrough DJ award at the 2009 Ibiza DJ Awards.
Among his standout tracks are “Incident” (2004), a memorable tune in techno circles, as well as “Ringo” (2013) and “Looks Fake Obviously” (2016), which signal his evolving melodic style. His album Nobody Knows (2014) was honored by Billboard as Electronic Album of the Year, while Four (2019) continued to showcase his creative breadth.
Beyond studio work, Voorn commands global stages—from Tomorrowland and Ultra to Ibiza residencies (ANS La Familia, elrow)—and maintains a powerful connection with fans through his Spectrum radio and event series. With over 1.8 million monthly listeners and hundreds of millions of streams, his timeless fusion of emotion and rhythm keeps him at the forefront of electronic music.
