Let’s meetup for Snakehips!
Snakehips: The Genre-Blending Duo Behind “All My Friends”
Snakehips—Oliver Lee and James Carter—are a British electronic music duo known for their seamless blend of R&B, hip-hop, and dance music. Originally gaining attention through remixes for artists like Banks, The Weeknd, Bondax, and Wild Belle, they officially launched their project in 2010 after meeting serendipitously in a Hong Kong sake bar.
Their breakthrough came in 2015 with the infectious single “All My Friends” featuring Tinashe and Chance The Rapper. The track topped charts around the globe and accumulated over 750 million streams, earning platinum certification in the U.S., UK, Australia, New Zealand, and more, as well as an Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song.
Following that, Snakehips continued to release hit singles like “Cruel” (featuring Zayn), “Don’t Leave” (with MØ), “Either Way,” and “Either Way” (with Anne-Marie and Joey Bada$$), consistently reaching top 40 charts.
In May 2023, they released their debut studio album, never worry, featuring collaborations with artists like Daya, EarthGang, BIA, Lucky Daye, Duckwrth, and Tinashe. Tracks like “Solitude” and “Show Me the Money” stood out on dance and radio charts.
With over two billion streams across their catalogue, Snakehips also expanded into curatorial roles by launching the club-focused label Never Worry Records in 2021, working with rising talents and established names like Armand Van Helden and Tchami.
From laid-back remix origins to award-winning originals and collaborative excellence, Snakehips continue to push genre boundaries while maintaining their soulful, groove-first aesthetic.
